The Need for Speed series has been one of the most successful racing game series, besides being one of the most successful video game franchises. Need For Speed: Most Wanted looks like its getting deep multiplayer EA and DreamWorks explained during their joint announcement that the film adaptation would be "a fast-paced, high-octane film rooted in the tradition of the great car culture films of the 70s while being extremely faithful to the spirit of the video game franchise". There is no indication of why the movie is being fast tracked. The studio acquired the movie rights for the Need for Speed series only last month. The game also features a progression system where you can level up to unlock mods for your car, as well as complete challenges such as finishing a race with no tyres to unlock License Plates that will display when you take down an opponent.
